For First-Time Visitors

We’d be delighted to have you join us for our regular Sunday service at 11:00am, on-line or in person at Almaden Hills. (Cambrian Park UMC, our sister church, begins their service at 9:30am. Pastor Mariellen Yoshino serves both churches.) As Jesus was, we are welcoming to all, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability (we're a Reconciling Congregation). And we’re friendly and fun to be around, if we do say so ourselves. You can view recorded services on our YouTube channel to check us out in advance. Some frequently-asked questions and answers are below. See you soon!

Are children and youth encouraged? My baby cries sometimes.

Yes! Children of all ages are welcome. For preschool to elementary-aged kids, we have Children's Gathering during the Almaden Hills service. Kids are excused to go with Brianna and adult volunteers for stories, games, and fun. Younger children and older youth may stay with you in the service. We like to hear babies cry!

What's your dress code? How about masks?

Come as you are! Most folks wear casual clothes. We follow the county's recommendation on masks and safety, so masks are currently completely optional and up to you.

Will I be pressured to join the church? Must I be Methodist to visit?

Absolutely not. When we say all are welcome, we mean all, no matter where you are on your faith journey. There's never any pressure to join, you are welcome to participate in the life of the church.

Do I have to donate money?

There's no admission charge to worship and fellowship with us! We do collect an offering at each Sunday service, but whether you choose to give and/or how much is up to you and completely voluntary. Many members and friends tithe and pledge.

Got any snacks?

Hey, we're Methodists, we almost always have food. Feel free to join us after service in Almaden Hills or Cambrian Park for fellowship time, beverages, and some sort of treat.   We'd love to get to know you at fellowship time, but it's not required.

Will this take all day?

Our services generally last about 60 to 75 minutes. But time flies when you're worshipping and fellowshipping. We sing some hymns, enjoy our excellent choir or special music, and are inspired and challenged by a thoughtful sermon.

Sounds good. Where are you located?

1200 Blossom Hill Drive, San Jose. Just southwest of the intersection of Blossom Hill and Almaden Expressway. More questions? Call; email; or find us on Facebook. We look forward to meeting you!
