Small Groups are a key part of the life of AHUMC. These include bible study and service groups, as one might expect, but also a wide variety of themes and interests. Active groups vary year to year and by season, but have included book discussions, quilting, hiking, life conversation, and much more (and yes, Bible Study!). Some groups meet in person, others on-line. Some travel together to cultural and other events. There is probably a Small Group that you would enjoy, too!

Methodism’s founder, John Wesley, was a proponent of small groups in the early church. These allow closer connections and interaction than just a weekly service. Social media, Zoom, and email have changed the way we interact, but Small Groups are still important to us today.
