Sharing God's Love; Following the Way
Join us for
Sunday worship at
9:00 and 10:30 a.m.
The purpose of the United Methodist Women is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Three times a year we get together with women from the other churches in our new El Camino Real District -- opportunities to be inspired again, to rekindle our spirits again, to make new friends again. It's that time again!
This is our annual “Leadership Development & Membership Training Event.” After snacks, and browsing the new books for the reading program, we'll gather for singing and devotions. Then we'll break into different training groups for officers, for circle leaders, and for UMW members. We'll get information about our brand new UMW Green Team. We'll learn about local and global mission projects, and hear about changes in the Women's Division of The United Methodist Church. We'll finish our time together with lunch.
Registration forms are available on the counter in the church office, or online at http://www.gbgm-umc.org/sjdumw. Registration fee of $10 includes lunch. Because the new El Camino Real District is so much larger now, there are two dates, two locations, and two registration deadlines to choose from.

Let's carpool!
Join us in the Fellowship Hall for an authentic Haitian lunch on Sunday, February 12, and hear Warren McGuffin tell of his recent experiences during a trip to Haiti. This event is co-hosted by Mission Commission and the United Methodist Women.
Theme: “Everything has a crack in it; that's how the light gets in.” (Leonard Cohen)
It was a Mission Springs retreat two years ago that gave us the impetus to re-charter our United Methodist Women's group at Almaden Hills. Each retreat is such a powerful experience that it can become a tipping point for change. Does that sound good to you? If it does, we hope you'll spend St. Patrick's Day weekend with us on this spiritual retreat in March, held at the beautiful Mission Springs Center in Scotts Valley.
Our guest speakers will be Kathi McShane, a United Methodist clergy person currently serving as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Pacific School of Religion (PSR) in Berkeley, and Shirley Stephenson, leader of Women's Faith Sharing groups and a Stephen Ministry Leader at San Ramon Valley UMC.
Registration forms are on the counter in the church office, or online at http://www.gbgm-umc.org/sjdumw Scholarship funds to defray the cost are available from the District UMW and from the Almaden Hills UMW. Registration deadline is February 16.
