She is active in the church choir, the early Wednesday morning women's group, the Variety Book Study Group, and the Worship Commission. Her interests and hobbies are tennis, traveling, theater, music, reading, and gardening. She and husband Dan have been married for 43 years. They have two children, two grandchildren, and two more grandchildren expected in March of next year. Wendy is a retired educator, spending half of her career as a teacher in Saratoga and the other half as a principal in the Eastside School District. Since their retirement, she and Dan have traveled to 56 countries.
Jodi Picard Jodi is originally from Horton, Kansas, and has lived in this area for 37 years. Her interests and hobbies include learning to play bridge and learning to garden. She travels, enjoys going to the movies, and spends time with family and friends. She is on our church's Banner Committee and is serving as treasurer of the new United Methodist Women's unit. She bakes for the Plum Pudding Festival, delivers flowers to our members, and helps with the Free Music School concerts. She is also a member of the San Jose Women's Club. Jodi says, “I began looking for a church in 2005. I started in the phone book with the A's. I stopped looking after I visited Almaden Hills because they made me feel welcome, and acted as though they wanted me to come back again. After my first Sunday there, Milt Revers came to my door with information about the church. The next week I met Karen Speer and Cindy Skrivanek, and joined a Friday evening study group. I look forward to many years of service -- and fun -- within these walls, and to building stronger friendships.”
Beryl Wilson Beryl was born in Roseburg, Oregon, and has lived in Alaska, New Hampshire, and Texas, as well, but California has been her home for a total of 43 years. Her hobbies are gardening, sewing, and reading, and taking care of her pet cats. She is a member of Easter Star and of the Ladies' Oriental Shrine in San Jose, and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Mountain View. One reason she came to Almaden Hills was because some of her Eastern Star friends, including Mabel Dort, attended our church. Beryl has been in our congregation for twelve years, and is a faithful volunteer for our Sunday morning coffee fellowship in the Fireside Room.
