Sharing God's Love; Following the Way
Our church is blessed with caring and competent staff. We invite you to introduce yourself to them.
Jane Schlager became pastor of our church on July 1, 2009. She was previously District Superintendent of the Golden Gate District, and has over 30 years of experience in the California-Nevada Conference of The United Methodist Church. She grew up and was educated in the Bay Area, graduating from the Pacific School of Religion in 1978. She is married to the Reverend P. David Schlager, pastor of Sunnyvale First UMC.
John has been the Director of Music at Almaden Hills since 1993. He has spent 20 years conducting choirs in various churches, and enjoys the warmth and community of Almaden Hills. He has also spent 8 years conducting symphony orchestras and currently sees about 800 children per week as a music teacher at several local schools. His music has been published by Fred Bock Music and Concordia.
Lisa graduated with a degree in Religious Studies (emphasis, Urban Ministry) from Westmont College in 2002 and joined our staff that year as Joint Youth Director. When asked if she'd like to pastor adults someday, she replies that she cannot imagine working with anyone other than teenagers, wherever God leads her. She believes that young people are very important to the congregation, and it is her desire to foster relevant, affirming programs that point teenagers toward God.
Linda comes from a long line of Methodists. Her father was a Methodist minister and she was brought up to be very active in the United Methodist Church. She is currently a member of Campbell UMC where she sings in the choir and is an active participant in the Church in Society and Reconciling committees. She is deeply devoted to human rights and social justice and is very excited to be working with Almaden Hills UMC as we are a vibrant congregation devoted to social justice issues.
